The Mom's Notes presentations have been written by Joey and Carla Link, National Ministry Overseers for Growing Families Int'l to give practical application to the biblical principles learned in the GFI parenting curriculum, Growing Kids God's Way (GKGW). The presentations that comprise the Mom's Notes give detailed explanation and suggestions on how the principles in GKGW can be used at each stage of a child's growth and maturing process.

Joey and Carla have partnered with Growing Families Int’l since 1994. Prior to that, Joey served for 16 years on pastoral staffs in the area of youth and family ministries. Carla’s background is in social work. Together they bring a unique blend of biblical teaching and practical application to parents desiring to raise obedient, respectful, and responsible children. They are the parents of three adult children; Michael (married to Rachael), Briana, and Amy.

Joey and Carla have taught GKGW in Burlington, IA for almost twenty years. As moms would contact Carla asking parenting questions, she decided to host a Mom’s Group once a month to share additional insight and answer their questions, sharing her own struggles and lessons she and Joey had learned parenting their three children.

As they began traveling for GFI,they found that moms around the country had the same struggles and questions about their own parenting as the moms in Burlington did. Joey and Carla began writing what has become the Mom's Notes presentations. As they traveled more, moms that they came in contact with began requesting these lessons. So, the Notes were put in a more formal form that could be read through and easily followed by moms anywhere in an effort to satisfy this need and help them in their own parenting.

As the Notes became more popular and it was obvious that they were providing much needed help to moms everywhere, Carla began speaking at Mom's Groups around the country during their travels for GFI. When moms were able to see how much more they could gain from hearing the presentations instead of just having the Notes, Mom’s Notes decided to record the presentation of each Mom’s Notes session in an audio form. As one can imagine, this CD that accompanies the Mom’s Notes has the added value of additional illustrations and a Q&A at the end of most of the presentations.

Each presentation has been made available with either the Notes, the CD, or both together. Because the original design is for a once a month mom’s group meeting, the presentations are also available in Volumes. Each Volume contains 8 presentations to take moms through an academic school year with a presentation each month. The teaching is designed to follow the instruction given in Titus 2:5, "Older women are to teach the younger women how to love their husbands and raise their children."More information on what presentations are avialable and how they are packaged is available on the 'Using Mom's Notes' page of this site.

Mom's Notes are intended for those parents who have completed the GFI parenting course, Growing Kids God's Way. Without the foundation of that curriculum, the lessons can easily be misunderstood. Joey and Carla are thankful to Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo for their support and encouragement of the Mom's Notes, and for the Ezzo's permission to use the copyrighted teaching in the GFI parenting curricula as the foundation for the information shared in these presentations.
